How Can We Slow Down Time?

Time moves by so quickly. I wish I could pause it. When I was younger, I wished I was older. I dreamt of freedom from my parents and being able to do whatever I want. Boy, was I stupid. My Dad used to say, “You don’t want to grow up; life only gets harder.” Those words rang on deaf ears. The truth of that statement didn’t hit me until much later.
Why does wisdom often takes years to maturate in our personal lives? It’s like building a fire in a cold room: once the room is warm, you’ve spent hours in the cold.
My thoughts about time delve deeper into my psychee. These questions are about life and how we live it, specifically my own. So I will keep this short and somber and open ended. The thoughts that keep crossing my mind are:
- How can I remember small moments and treasure the present as time keeps pushing me further in the future?
- If time is speeding up, is death much closer to the present?
- How do I slow down time?
- If I believe time is limited and has a cap, how can I make the most of it?
